"i inne zabawne rzeczy" - about the album

"It’s a cool and interesting twist on a type of music that doesn’t seem to get made much anymore."
(Alex Howell, Maximum Rocknroll)

"However, the music on these records is neither local nor hermetic. Its language is very universal, just as Rock In Opposition music once was."

(Grzegorz Tyszkiewicz, Bocian Records blog)

"Theoretically, the music of Przepych is built by the sound of bass guitar and drums but practically the whole spectrum of samples and electronics is present, it is edgy and minimalist, repetitive. The album's opener, "Fusion Cusine", sounds as if a cassette tape had rolled up in a tape recorder. A teaser of the band's capabilities, Przepych in a nutshell: broken rhythm, scraps of guitar sound, cut-up electronic parts, high dynamics."

"The Wroclawians seem to have already reached a separate genre category and a separate level of instrumental reflection of the inside of their heads. It's really amazing that in Poland the tropes and ideas associated with no wave and radical musical deconstruction have found each other so well. We are witnessing the unique consolidation of a certain scene that is so distinct that it is a rarity on a European scale."
(Ujot)

"The Wroclaw-based trio - Ewa Glowacka, Jakub Majchrzak and Łukasz Plata - sounds like a refreshed sound of Rock In Opposition or No Wave, meaning the most uncompromising scenes of the 70s. From dissonances and choppy rhythms - and the drum parts here are an absolute (and very solid) base for any extravagance - our heads can spin like on a merry-go-round."
(Polifonia)

"Listening to this material is like a drunken marathon through bars. In each one there's something interesting going on, except that after entering, we forget what we did in the previous bar. Of course in a positive sense cause each track surprises us. Thanks to the rich musical experience of the band members we feel that we are not communing with rookies but people who are looking for something new in music."

"I could go on like this for a while, but either way - Przepych is... Przepych. You won't mistake this post- or artpunk trio with anything else. Whether you listen to their debut 'Regresarabas' or 'i inne zabawne rzeczy''."

"Of course, the absurdities of a failing Europe can only be endured with the right dose of cynicism, so the gleefully colorful trash-no-wave concoction is exactly the fun format needed. In other words: the dress matches the content. Laughter, of course, may rise in the throat at any moment."

(Duisburch)

"Here we are dealing with musicians who grasp the musical space in a rather intuitive way, but once they grasp it they don't let go."
"Przepych's music is sadic (because it is not sadistic) in this very consistency: the repetition of (richly, yes, ornate) motifs, through their loops acquiring a kind of austerity. It is music of discipline and consistency, extending to the listener as well."

____________

This is the final album of Przepych. Szymon Szwarc was the one to record it. It was at the end of June 2021 in Złe Litery studio in Toruń. Toruń is a city in Poland. Poland is a country where we happen to make this music.

He mixed it.
He mastered it.
We produced it altogether.

Szymon also appears with his guitar in the tracks 3, 5 and 8.
Track 5 is a reprise from the first album and thus utilizes clarinet tones of Piotr Łyszkiewicz once again.

Łukasz was the busiest one with the lyrics, with some collective polishing.
Ewa and Kuba were shaping the artwork, with some common feedback.
Album was released on CD by Fonoradar Records on June28th of 2022.

Przepych was:
Ewa Głowacka - vocs, keyboards, sampler
Jakub Majchrzak - vocs, bass, guitar, sampler
